AND THE WORD BECAME FLESH AND DWELT AMONG US.  AND WE BEHELD HIS GLORY, A GLORY AS OF AN ONLY BEGOTTEN FROM THE FATHER, FULL OF GRACE AND TRUTH - John 1:14

1- Who is Jesus? Who is this Jesus who I am putting all my trust in?  Or you might be asking, Who is this Jesus that everyone is raving about?  Why is He such a big deal?  Is He a person?  Is He God?  Hopefully this page can clear up all the questions you might have.  All that you will read about who Jesus is on this page is a brief synopsis, highlighting who He is.

4- At the exact hour of His death, it was the exact time that lambs were being slaughtered all over the nation of Israel for the Passover feast. As He let out a loud cry, His cry joined with the lambs crying all over the nation. Jesus is our Passover lamb. As He died, 100s of graves of those who had died were empty and those who had died were seen walking around the city. Jesus body was laid to rest in a tomb and His body stayed there for 3 days. During this time, His spirit went to Hell, where He took the keys to Death and to Hell from Satan. He also brought all those out who were God’s people who had died before and were waiting for Him in this place called Paradise. He brought them out so they could go on to Heaven now. After these 3 days, Jesus body raised from the dead. He appeared to His disciples and to many others for several days before He ascended to Heaven. One day soon He will come again in the same way that He left and every eye will see Him.

3- Jesus lived on the Earth as a human for 33 years and lived a sinless life.  During his Earthly life, he had a mother, a father, brothers and sisters.  He lived as a human.  He was called Emmanuel, which means God with us, because He lived among us, but also because He made it possible for God to be with us again.  While He was on the Earth living as a human, He performed many uncommon miracles.  He fed thousands of people with only enough food for one person.  He turned water into wine.  He walked on the water.  He commanded the storms and waves to be still and they obeyed Him.  He raised the dead.  He cast out demons.  He healed the sick, the lame, the deaf, the blind, and many others.  He challenged the religious elite of His time who were corrupt.   He spoke with authority as only one from Heaven could speak.  At the age of 33, He willingly laid down His life and died a horrible death of severe flogging and beating to the point that He was unrecognizable as a human.  He was mocked and brutalized in unimaginable ways and was then nailed to a cross on the mountain called Calvary, where He hung for 6 hours from 9am until 3pm.  At the point that He was about to die, He called out to God His Father and said “My Father why have you forsaken Me.”  As Jesus hung on that cross, He bore the sins of humanity, of all humanity who had ever lived and who would ever live and the Father could not look upon Him at that moment.  He also cried out, “For this reason I was sent and for this reason I was made manifest.“ and “It is finished.”  He finally let out a loud cry and said, “Father into Your hands do I commit My Spirit,” and He surrendered His spirit to God.  After Jesus was hung on the cross, darkness fell upon the Earth, as well as an earthquake.  The veil that was in the temple to the Holy of Holies ripped from top to bottom revealing this holy place, symbolizing that man would now be able to come close to God the Father again.  The darkness remained for the entire time Jesus was on the cross.

2- To begin with, Jesus, who some call Yeshua or other variation of this Hebrew name, is the creator of Heaven, Earth and everything that exists or ever existed in the universe.  In Hebrew Yeshua or Yahshua means Yahweh’s salvation.  Yahweh is the name that God gave us for Himself, the Hebrew characters Yod Hey Vav Hey.  He is the beginning and the end, and He holds it all together with the power of His Word.  Jesus was with God in the beginning and He is also God.  He is the Son of God, the manifest presence of God, and both He and God are one.  He is in God the Father and God the Father is in Him.  In the beginning, this manifest presence of God was the spoken Voice of God as He created everything and called everything into existence with His Voice.  This Voice or Word of God came to the world almost 2,000 years ago in human form.  The Spirit of God, called the Holy Spirit, came upon a woman named Mary who was a virgin, and she conceived this Holy Seed of God.  He was born as a baby and grew up on the Earth.  He came to save His creation from their sins and make a way for them to come close to God the Father again.  In and of themselves humans could never come to the Father because, even on their best days, every last one of them is guilty of sin and deserving of God’s wrath and death.  Humans can’t stand before their Heavenly Father in their sin condition.  He can’t look upon them like this.  He loved His creation so much that He couldn’t bear to send them to eternity in Hell, which was only created for Satan, his fallen angels and all the demons.  Because He loved people so much, He made a plan to save them from their sins and certain spiritual death.  He made a plan to cleanse them and atone for their sins.  He sent Himself, His one and only begotten Son, Jesus, to be the sacrifice for all of the sins of mankind.  Sin could not be atoned for unless it was a sinless, perfect sacrifice without fault or blemish spiritually.  There was nobody worthy to be the sacrifice except for God Himself, so He sent Jesus, His Son, who is also Himself.

5- Until then, He is seated at the right hand of God the Father on His own throne.  He is worshipped constantly around the throne and all power on Heaven and on Earth has been given to Him.  As the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, He is our soon coming King and of His Kingdom there will be no end.  There is no other name under Heaven, given among men whereby we must be saved.  Demons tremble at His name.  Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord, whether they do it willingly as a child of God or whether it is by force before they are cast out into utter darkness for eternity.

6- He is the only mediator between God and man.  He is the only person to whom we direct our prayers, not to our ancestors or to those who have died or to any other saints.  We speak to Jesus, to God the Father and the Holy Spirit only when we pray.  Jesus is the one who made the way for us to come close to Father again.  We can have an intimate relationship with the Father because of what Jesus did for us.  We, the people of God, are called the Bride of Christ and are married to Him in the spirit.  We are His valuable treasure and He never stops to intercede for us and to contend for us while the enemy is accusing us before God.

7- He is our Best Friend and our Lover.  He is the Friend who sticks closer than a brother.  He is a very present Help in time of need.  He is our Strength and the Stronghold of our life.  He is our Righteousness in God.  He is our Healer, our Protector and our Provider.  He is our Banner.  He is Love and He is Light and He is Truth.  There is no other way to be saved or to come to the Father except through Him, Jesus Christ.  The bible tells much about Jesus.  He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

9- It is in Jesus that we live and move and have our being.  It is in Him that we receive wisdom, knowledge, understanding and deep insight into the secret things.  It is because of what He did and then returned to Heaven that the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, was able to come and be living in those of us who believe.  We have the actual Spirit of God living in us.  This same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in us and quickens our human bodies.  Jesus is the Word of God made into flesh.  He is our Savior and our Comfort.  He is our Encourager and our Joy.  He is our Peace, our Rock and Redeemer.  He has redeemed us from the curse of sin and every curse that could try to stand against us.  He made an open and public display of Satan and demon powers when He triumphed over them at Calvary on the cross.  He has overcome all and He tells us to not fear.

8- Many imposters, anti-christs have come.  They will all culminate with the man of sin who is the actual and literal Anti-Christ during the last few years of this age before Jesus returns to overthrow him.  Although they deceive many, none of these are God and none of these can save.  They are from their father the devil and they are full of lies and hate humanity.  Jesus came so we can be free from all deception and all darkness.  He came to set us truly free from all the enemy had against us.

10- He is also the written Word of God, the bible.  This Word is alive and quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword.  It cuts the enemy and crushes his head, stopping him in his tracks.  When we declare the Word of God over a situation, we are declaring Jesus and all that He is, the Word of God, over that situation.  There is power in that spoken Word and all of Heaven backs it.  This Word of God accomplishes what it says.  It does not return to God void.   It prospers in the way in which it was sent.  He is the Resurrection and the Life and because we come to Him we don’t ever die.  Even if we die a physical death, we live.  We live on in Heaven with Jesus.  We don’t die a second death, which is the real death, being separated from God.  Jesus holds all authority in Heaven and Earth and has given that to us, His people.  He also tells us that as He is in Heaven so are we on this Earth.  He expects us to occupy on this Earth with His Kingly authority until He returns to take us home to Heaven.  There is much more to know about Jesus and who He is and is recorded in the bible, His Word.

11- The bottom line is that His death was an acceptable sacrifice to God for our sins.  All we have to do is accept it.  We must believe in our heart and confess with our mouth that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died for our sins and that He rose again on the 3rd day.  We must repent of our sins and ask Jesus to forgive us and cover us with His blood.  When we do this, we become a child of God and saved from our sins.  This Jesus who died for us becomes our Savior.  So who is Jesus?  He is everything God the Father knew that we would need in this life and after.  If you don’t know Jesus and would like to receive Him as your Savior, click HERE to pray the salvation prayer and become born again.
